#FrenchBride n°11 - Audrey
What a sunny and joyful wedding! The beautiful Audrey said "Oui!" to Antoine in June 2019 in the Luberon. These magical moments were captured with talent by Garance (Garance&Vanessa). Audrey tells us everything below!
We met in 2016 thanks to the Internet! Everything was so natural and obvious between us that we quickly moved in together and the projects soon followed. We share a lot of things: a love of outdoors and mountains, traveling, eating out ... And I can't wait to share with him the years to come, to build new projects.
Antoine proposed in March 2018 during a trip to New York. That day, New York was under the snow, there was an air of magic. He had made a reservation in a very nice restaurant overlooking Central Park. The proposal was supposed to happen that evening, but Antoine finally decided otherwise and proposed the day after, during our last evening, at the top of the Empire State Building. The cold and the wind had no bite on the moment, it will remain an unforgettable one!
A French bride for you is…
Elegance and simplicity! Balance has to be found while remaining true to oneself.
Your dress and style
Initially, I had only a very vague idea of what I wanted. I really fell in love with the first dress I tried. The cut, the material, the little details, it was the one I wanted to wear for this so special day! Rime Arodaky, the designer, knows how to give this little twist to her dresses, while being sophisticated.
That was the first thing we chose. We wanted to get married around Lyon but after several fruitless visits, we expanded our scope to the Luberon. We visited the Abbaye Saint Eusèbe for the first time in the rain but it did not prevent us from having a crush on this old 12th century abbey. So charming with its old stones, orchard and flowers!
Antoine and I had the same tastes and wishes for our wedding. We did not choose a particular theme, we wanted an elegant decoration in the country-chic style. Pinterest was our traveling companion! Thanks to our florist, Christine, and to the caterer, we were able to give life to the wedding of our dreams: a dinner outside under the cherry trees in the light of a few garlands.
The most wonderful moment of the day
How can I choose only one? If I had to pick one of the most moving moments, I would say it was when I walked down the aisle in the church at my father’s arm to join Antoine. Fortunately, one of my témoins had planned a handkerchief! But there are so many other moments that I would like to share with you: our arrival at the abbey on a three-wheel scooter, the speeches, the opening of the ball ... All these moments are precious and remind us how unforgettable this wedding is. We were in our bubble of happiness.
Right after the wedding, we spent three days in a hotel at the foot of the Mont Ventoux. Our program comprised rest, cycling and wine tasting! It was perfect after spending this busy year preparing the wedding. Two months later, in August, we flew to South Africa and Mozambique for a safari. We stayed in stunning hotels, glimpsed the Big Five, lit a campfire in the middle of the bush, saw whales…. Such beautiful memories for our honeymoon!
