#FrenchBride n°14 - Caroline
Les Bonnes Joies, what an incredible venue to celebrate a wedding! Caroline said “Oui!” to Sébastien in this timeless place. You will love the industrial atmosphere of this stunning wedding captured with talent by Pierre Atelier. His bright and soft pictures convey perfectly the gentleness, the happiness and the fall colors of this big day!
Sébastien proposed on the occasion of a fantastic stay in New York, and more precisely the day following our arrival, after a helicopter tour. He had written a touching letter asking me to marry him. He gave it to me while holding out a beautiful ring ...
As I had never dreamed of my wedding before the proposal, we imagined and built everything together. I think that it is important. In my case, the future groom was very involved in the preparations!
At first we didn't really have a clear idea of what we wanted for our D-Day. We therefore drew a lot of inspiration from blogs and let our imagination roam. One thing was certain: we wanted a fall wedding and scheduled it on October 8th, 2016. We started the preparations by choosing the venue and had a huge crush on Les Bonnes Joies, located in our native department: the Yvelines. The theme was obvious - it will be an industrial wedding.
Planning the wedding was a real pleasure! It took us ten months to organize this wedding, we met interesting and very nice people, we appreciated every step of the preparations (even if we had a few moments of panic the final week).
In terms of decoration - and this is our pride - we wanted to do most of the things ourselves. This was a “mission accomplished” since we made everything with second-hand items and DIY (wooden crates, homemade candles for guests’ gifts and tables, menu supports, table plans, arch for the secular ceremony, floral decoration…).
Being neither baptized nor religious, I had never imagined getting married in the church. We therefore chose to organize a secular ceremony with a close friend at the helm. It was a very intense and emotional moment that we will always remember!
The most wonderful moment of the day
I loved everything about this wedding, from the preparations to the brunch on the day after, but saying "I do" at the town hall was particularly memorable for me. I realized at that moment how lucky I was to be so well surrounded!
